"It's a Girl! ...(we think)"

Here she is, perhaps enjoying the subtle pleasures of in-womb thumb-sucking. Her hand is very distinct, with all the fingers she will need.

Congratulations, Rich. First Kyle Newcomer gets engaged and Mr. Hamlin...I mean. Mrs...is going to have a child!

Cheers from the Basille,
Andy

Actually, we're 21 weeks as of today. So the baby was before the engagement, but I did see that Kyle is engaged. To a former Presbyterian, too. Lindsay is a good girl, but here's wishing that Presbyterians were more well taught than they are. I think they will be great together, though. Much love for them both.

Sorry it took so long to respond, but all the male newborns, and those still in the womb have been knocking down my door.

Well, I happen to believe that the Reforming faith of Reformed Presbyterianism is the Catholic faith of historic Christianity (by that, I mean ever since Adam). This is the universal faith. The Roman Catholic (and modern Episcopal) faith is far from Catholic by this standard.

Also, about the statement regarding how well Presby's are taught. I lament that Presbyterians (including myself) are not taught as well as they ought to have been. I am still nothing but happy for Kyle and Lindsay. I think of them both as very godly Christians. Of course, wives follow their husbands, and that is great, as God designed it. However, I do think that disagreements between Reformed theology and baptistic are substantial (though not everything, by far), and I wish that Presbys more valued and understood the scope of God's covenantal dealings with his people.

Sure in the sense you seem to imply, it is, yes. It is a part of Christianity (i.e. God's religion, the only truth, etc.) for sure. Yet is it truly Catholic in the Nicene sense? Is it really Apostolic? A rejection of the Episcopacy, five of the seven sacraments, and Tradition, place Presbyterianism outside the bounds of Catholicity. You make a good Reformed Catholic, Rich. Doug Wilson and Peter Leihart would be proud.

"I wish that Presbys more valued and understood the scope of God's covenantal dealings with his people."

Amen to that!

I can't comment on the most recent discussion other than to say that the reformed faith is grounded in the Word of God and we are to encourage others through love by God's Word bringing oters to acknowledge and experience God's grace in their lives. That is my focus at this present time since I counsel others occasionally. It's good to see Rich, that you have written lately in your blog!!

First of all, am I a Catholic or am I not? Which is it?

The church built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets was never built on Apostolic succession, but on what the apostles and prophets taught--God's word.

That's right, 2 Apostolic and Biblical sacraments...

I suppose you aren't familiar with Reformed Catholicism...

I replied to your comments on my page, which deal with the root issues of this.
